Archos Smartphones, Tablets at IFA 2014

Archos reveals new smartphones and tablets ahead of IFA 2014, with its first Windows devices in the shape of the 40 Cesium and 80 Cesium, as well as Android options such as the 50b Platinum and the 101 Oxygen.

Archos TabletThe 40 Cesium is a low-cost (£79) 4-inch Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU, the same inside the Nokia Lumia 530 and Motorola Moto E.

It also features 3 colored back cases in yellow, blue and black.

Meanwhile the 80 Cesium is a Windows 8.1 tablet with an 8-inch IPS display. It runs on an unspecified Intel quad-core processor, and is also marketed as being an affordable (£129) means to "replicate the user experience of your desktop on the go."

On the Android side, Archos offers the 50b Platinum smartphone and the 101 Oxygen tablet. Both run on Android Kit Kat with mid-tier specifications and price tags.

Also announced by the company is a selection of "connected objects"-- the Weather Station (connects to iOS and Android devices to provide temperature, humidity, air quality, noise and atmospheric pressure data), the Music Light (a music-streaming lamp) and the Music Beany (a plush beany/music player combo).
