Panasonic launches the Lumix GF8-- a digital single lens mirrorless (DSLM) sequel to the 2015 GF7 with a focus on users' more narcissistic side with the addition of more features to the selfie mode.

Lumix GF8The GF8 has mostly identical specs to the GF7-- namely a 16MP Digital Live MOS sensor, 5.8fps shooting speed, 1080/60p video recording and built-in wifi smartphone connectivity. Likewise it features a 3-inch touchscreens users can tilt upward by 180-degrees to make the snapping of self portraits a, well, snap.

As such, additions come through software, with "Beauty Retouch," "Aesthetic Retouch" and "Make-up Retouch" modes allowing user to tweak selfies to their hearts' desires. One can also combine selfies with a number of filters, such as Retro, Soft Focus, Expressive, High Key and Toy Effect.

Panasonic gives no word of European availability as yet, but the camera should hit store shelves in a choice pink, silver, brown or orange faux-leather finishes.
