LG announces a duo of 21:9 "UltraWide" monitors-- the 38-inch 38UC99 curved monitor and the 144Hz 34-inch 34UC79G curved gaming monitor, both offering "significant advances in display innovation."

LG Ultrawide monitorsThe 38UC99 features a 3840 x 1600 resolution IPS panel offering a colour gamut covering 99% of sRGB colour space. Described as the biggest curved monitor from the company yet, it is also the first to feature USB-C connectivity for the transmission of both content and power through a single cable.

Custom display options are available through OnScreen Control and My Display Preset software.

LG describes the 34UC796 as "the world’s first 144Hz IPS 21:9 curved UltraWide gaming monitor." It features 1 millisecond motion blur reduction for seamless image transitions together with Black Stabiliser (provides extra clear contrast), Dynamic Action Sync (reduces input lag) and AMD FreeSync compatibility.

“With tablets and smartphones at their disposal, consumers today don’t feel shackled to their desks anymore so it’s more important than ever that their monitors offer additional user benefits and conveniences,” the company says. “LG is the number one brand in the 21:9 monitor space because we were first to recognize that consumers are adopting a new way of working and playing that put them ahead of the competition whether that’s working or playing.”

The two monitors will be on show at IFA 2016.
