MSI Prepares for AMD Ryzen CPUs

MSI is ready for the launch of the latest AMD desktop CPUs with a selection of Ryzen-ready AM4 motherboards featuring mainstream B350 and high-end X370 chipsets.

MSI MotherboardLower-end customers get a choice of 3 B350 motherboards-- the Tomahawk, Mortar and Gaming Pro, all compatible with Summit Ridge Ryzen chips and the upcoming 7th generation Bristol Ridge APUs. The B350M Gaming and B350M Mortar are microATX boards with metal-reinforced PCIe x16 slots, four SATA 6Gbps ports and an M.2 PCIe slots. Both have red LED illumination and the Gaming has red silscreening on the PCB.

The B350 Tomahawk is a full-size ATX option, with two steel-plated PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, four SATA 6Gbps connectors, NVMe M.2 slot and a pair of PCI ports.

Meanwhile the X370 range has two offerings-- the Gaming Pro Carbon and XPower Gaming Titanium, both featuring two M.2 ports and Intel gigabit ethernet chips. The Gaming Pro Carbon has RGB LED illumination, a DVI port and an HDMI connector, while the XPower Gaming Titanium adds DisplayPort and HDMI connectors and "CMOS clear" button.

MSI is still to announce when the AM4 motherboards start shipping.
