AMD might offer mobile PC makers the Ryzen Mobile 4000 series processors, but Origin takes a step further with the EON15-X AMD, a high-end laptop powered by a choice Ryzen 3000 desktop SKUs, including the 12-core Ryzen 9 3900.
An update on the EON15 line of gaming laptops, the EON15-X AMD comes in 6-, 8- and 12-core configurations aimed at gamers and content creation wanting the multi-core performance of the 7nm Zen 2 architecture. The processor is paired with up to 64GB of DDR4-2666 RAM, up to 4TB of SATA SSD storage and a choice of Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 6GB or 2070 8GB graphics card.
While such a machine is indeed powerful Origin says it is not oversized, since it is 3cm thick and weighs 2.7kg. The display is a 15.6-inch number providing 1920 x 1080 resolution and 144Hz, while connectivity includes x2 USB-A, x1 USB 2.0 and x1 USB-C ports, plus x1 Mini DisplayPort 1.4 and x1 HDMI video outputs. The full-size keyboard includes RGB backlighting, and the touchpad carries an embedded fingerprint reader.
The EON15-X AMD is avialable now in a choice of customisation options, such as a metallic finish and custom hydro dipping.
