LG announces the 32UL750-W-- a mid-range 31.5-inch 4K monitor offering a 3840 x 2160 resolution VA panel capable of 400 nits brightness, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 178-degree viewing angles and a 60Hz refresh rate (with FreeSync).

Further features include 4ms response time, HDR10 support for more detailed shadows and highlights, 100% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut and 95% of DCI-P3 reproduction. The monitor ships factory calibrated and supports a number of features aimed at gamer customers, such as Black Stabiliser (makes dark scenes brighter) and Dynamic Action Sync (minimises input lag).

Philips Presents 499P9H SuperWide Monitor

Customers in want of an extra-large display might be interested in the Philips Brilliance 499P9H, a curved 49-inch monitor the company says is equivalent to a pair of 27-inch QHD monitors connected in a curve.

The 499P9H features an unusual Dual Quad HD (5120 x 1440) resolution and 1800R curvature. A VA LED panel promises "dazzling colours, inky shadows and sparkling whites," while Low Blue Light and Flicker Free modes make it easier on the eyes. Philips does not give information on colour space coverage, instead saying it meets the VESA-certified HDR 400 standard, meaning it brings at least 400 nits of brightness.

Samsung claims the development of a first UHD (3840 x 2160) display for the notebook/laptop market-- a 15.6-inch OLED panel able to handle the ultra-high resolution optimised for gaming, graphic design and video streaming.

Set to enter mass production in February 2019, the OLED panel promises a wide range of cutting-edge features, including "exceptional" contrast ratio, "extreme" colour accuracy, full HDR compatibility, wide colour gamut and high outdoor visibility, all considered essential for premium notebooks. Brightness levels clock from 0.0005 to 600 nits, while the dynamic contrast ratio reaches 120000:1.

What makes a "tactical gaming monitor"? We can't tell, even as Gigabyte uses the phrase to describe the Aorus AD27QD, a 27-inch gaming monitor promising "exclusive features" allowing for even better gameplay.

The AD27QD features a 2590 x 1440 IPS panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms (MPRT) response time, together with 178-degree viewing angles and 10-bit colour meeting 95% of the DCI-P3 standards. Also included is AMD Radeon FreeSync technology for tear-free gameplay when paired with compatible AMD graphics cards, and HDR via VESA-certified DisplayHDR 400 HDR.

AOC announces a first gaming monitor design in collaboration with the G2 Esports organisation-- the G2590PX/G2, based on the "acclaimed G90 series of gaming monitors" but fitting with the "G2 vision of competitive gaming."

More specifically, the G2590PX/G2 is a variant on the G2590PX monitor. It is a 24.5-inch monitor equipped with high performance gaming features, including 144Hz max refresh rate, 1ms response time, 400 nits brightness and AMD FreeSync compatibility. The 1920 x 1080 resolution TN type panel offers 1000:1 static contrast and 170/160-degree viewing angles, while connectivity comes via x2 HDMI 1.4, x1 VGA and x1 DisplayPort 1.2.
