Smartphone camera lens accessories are nothing too new, but Sony takes the concept a step further with the SPA-TA1-- an attachment designed to mount the DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 lens-style cameras to tablets.

The mounts included with the two "smart lenses" only fit devices with a maximum width of 75mm, meanng they does not fit oversized devices such as the Sony's own Xperia Z Ultra or VAIO Tap 11. The SPA-TA1 fixes such woes with a selection of 6 arms catering for devices ranging between 85mm and 95mm in width.

Sony launches the SP-TA1 in Japan from April 2014. No word on a European launch is available as yet, but customers over here also like to take pictures of their pets and lunches using their tablets...
