A First EVGA Sound Card

PC component maker EVGA joins forces with Audio Note UK to present a first sound card-- the NU Audio Card, a shielded PCIe card promising "the most immersive audio and lifelike gaming experienced on a PC."

EVGA NU AudioEVGA claims the NU Audio Card offers audiophile-grade audio quality, allowing users to listen to both subtle sounds and powerful explosions for a more immersive audio experience. To do so the card leverages on the expertise of Audio Note UK, being built using audio-grade capacitors and resistors installed on a silver- and gold-plated multilayer PCB. Further improving quality are isolated dual-ground planes for analogue and digital circuitry, while the power supply promises to be both low noise and regulated.

Of course, being a piece of PC gamer hardware the card includes RGB lighting on top of a "stealth" exterior, with presets for either mood or reactive options. Of course, the "strict audiophile" can also disable lighting entirely. Lighting comes through included Nu Audio software, which also provides custom EQ profiles and other audio control features.

The Nu Audio Card should ship on January 2019.
