SteelSeries announces an update to the Rival 3 gaming mouse, together with a pair of gaming keyboards promising to bring high performance features to "a wider audience of gamers," the Apex 3 and Apex 5.

SteelSeries Updates 2020The updated Rival 3 mouse carries what the company claims is "a new performance-focused sensor." Dubbed the TrueMove Core, the optical sensor offers 8500 CPI, one-to-one tracking and over 300 IPS and 35G of acceleration capability. The mouse itself features a right-handed design with 6 buttons and, being a piece of gaming hardware, includes built-in lighting with three RGB backlighting zones. The two main buttons feature SteelSeries switches rated at up to 60 million clicks.

Moving on to the keyboards, both the Apex 3 and Apex 5 feature anti-ghosting and RGB lighting. The Apex 3 includes an upgraded and reinforced membrane switch for improved key feel, dedicated media keys, volume wheel, magnetically-attached wrist rest and is rated for IP32 water resistance. The Apex 5 ups the ante with hybrid mechanical switches promising to combine the smoothness of a membrane switch with the click of a blue switch. It also includes a mini OLED display to view in-game info or song information, as well as media keys and 5 onboard profiles for switching between devices.

The Rival 3, Apex 3 and Apex 5 are available now.
