Black Looks for Noctua Coolers

Noctua announces black versions of the NH-D15, NH-U12S and NH-L9 CPU coolers, with black fans and black coated heatsinks making somewhat striking change from the brown/beige colour schemes the company is known for.

Noctuoa chromax.blackDubbed the chromax/black series, the fan claim to deliver "the same signature quiet cooling performance with a sleek stealth look." Apparently the change in look was long awaited, but Noctua says it took "a lot of time and engineering" to find a coating it could combine with the process it uses to solder fins to the heatpipes.

Other than the colour, the  NH-D15 chromax.black, NH-U12S chromax.black and NH-L9i chromax.black are identical to the regular models. Every component, from the heatsinks to the fan screws and mounting parts, is black, and offers the same cooling performance as the non-coated counterparts.

In addition to the chromax-black fans, Noctua launches the NA-SAVP3 anti-vibration pads in black, blue, green, red, white and yellow. Compatible with all NF-A15 series fans, the pads allow customers to customise their coolers. The NF-F12 fan inside the NH-U12S chromax.black can be colour-customised using existing NA-AVP1 pads, and in addition both models are compatible with  NA-HC1/NA-HC2 (NH-U12S) and NA-HC3/NA-HC4 (NH-D15) heatsink covers as well as chromax line NA-EC1 and NA-YC1 cables for further visual customisation.

The NH-D15 chromax.black and NH-U12S chromax.black are available now.
