Available in "Just Black" and "Not Pink," the Pixelbook Go carries a range of specifications inside a magnesium casing. Internals include anything from an entry-level Intel Core m3 processor with 8GB RAM and 64GB storage to Core i5 versions with more RAM and storage and a Core i7 version featuring 16GB RAM, 256GB storage and a 4K resolution display.

Providing power to the machine is a battery Google claims offers up to 12 hours of use on a single charge, as well as 2 hours of power after just 20 minutes of charging. In addition, the backlit keyboard promises to be both premium and quiet thanks to Google-made "Hush Keys."

Nest wifiThe event also has a Google means for improved wifi-- Nest Wifi, a mesh-based system building on the 2016 Google Wifi. Nest Wifi consists of two devices, namely a router and a wifi point expanding coverage where required. Google says it is x2 faster and offers 25% better coverage compared to Google wifi, and customers can add more points if they want to further expand coverage.

Setup also promises to be easy through a companion app, and a built-in speaker and microphone allow for voice control via Google Assistant. Future updates should also bring smart home capabilities, at least via Google's own Thread system.
