Porsche Design, the merchandise wing of legendary sportscar maker Porsche, launches an interesting-looking premium notebook-- the Ultra One, a 15.6-inch number featuring an ultra-slim design complete with fanless cooling.
The Ultra One comes inside a magnesium chassis measuring 359 x 249 x 13.8mm, making it thinner than a good number of 13-inch notebooks. The minimalist stylings are, perhaps obviously, very reminiscent of Apple MacBooks, if with something of a twist. Instead of the sides, all the ports (including x2 USB-A, x2 USB-C, x1 HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack and microSD slot) reside in a special hinge block, allowing customers to neatly hide cables when in use.
Actually powering the notebook is a choice of either Intel 8th Generation Core i5-8200Y or i7-8500Y (Amber Lake-Y) dual-core processors, both featuring Intel UHD Graphics 615 and 5W TDP. Further specs include 8/16GB RAM, 512GB/1TB SSD and a 45.6Wh battery Porsche Design claims offers up to 10 hours of use on a single charge. In other details, the notebook carries Harman/Kardon stereo speakers, and the microphone array supports Microsoft Cortana voice input.
The Ultra One ships from December 2019.
