Microsoft Brings Surface Book 2 to Europe

Microsoft announces the 13- and 15-inch Surface Book 2 notebooks are now shipping in a number of European markets, following an initial US launch back in November 2017.

Surface Book 2Customers in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK can preorder the Surface Book 2 now. The notebook will also be available in Bahrain, Italy, Kuwait, Oman, Portugal, Qatar, S. Arabia, Spain and UAE from March-April 2018.

The Surface Book 2 looks very similar to the original (not to mention the 2016 update), even if Microsoft insists just about every detail has been tweaked. As the most powerful piece of hardware from the Windows maker yet, it carries 8th gen quad-core Intel Core processors, with the Core i7 models adding GeForce 10-series series graphics.

The 15-inch model is, perhaps predictably, the more powerful option, since it offers a GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB video RAM. The 13-inch model gets a GTX 1050 with 2GB video RAM. Further details include up to 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, battery promising up to 17 hours of use in laptop mode (or 5 hours in tablet mode) and an improved, less wobbly hinge.
