LG announces the 27-inch UltraFine 5K Display (model 27MD5KL), an update on the first UltraFine 5K monitor now featuring Apple endorsement for use with both Mac PCs and the iPad Pro.

UltraFine 5K

The UltraFine 5K features both Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C support, allowing for video, audio and data transfer through a single cables. It also handles 94W power, meaning it can charge any USB-C compliant host. The display panel features P3 wide colour gamut and 500-nit brightness, with no calibration required, while 218 PPI capability brings over 14.7 million on-screen pixels.

The monitor sits on a stand with adjustable height and tilt. It is compatible with  macOS Mojave 10.14.6 and iOS 12.4, enabling users to control brightness and volume directly from the Touch Bar or keyboard (and just as well, since the monitors lack physical controls). An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness when connected to a Mac.

“The first LG UltraFine series was well received by creative professionals for its exceptional performance and convenience,” LG says. “Ease of use, seamless integration, and stunning screen quality make LG UltraFine monitors a great choice for Apple users.”

The UltraFine 5K is available now.
