AOC Gets F.A. Porsche for PDS Monitors

Studio F.A. Porsche designs the latest AOC monitors series-- the Porsche Design Series (PDS), available in 24-inch (PDS241) and 27-inch (PDS271) sizes, both sitting on a unique asymmetrical stand.

AOC PDS MonitorThe two monitors feature ultra-slim bezels on the left, right and top, and the minimalist chassis is just 5.2mm thick. Resolution is 1920 x 1080, and the AH-IPS panel offers "SuperColor WCG" technology for greater colour gamut (100% sRGB and 90% NTSC colour space) and super wide viewing angles.

Display panel refresh rate clocks at 60Hz, response time is 4ms, contrast ratio is listed at 1000:1 and brightness rating is 250 cd/m2. Also included are AOC Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technology.

However what remains the most remarkable feature is the stand. Featuring what is described as an "elegant and sophisticated" design, it houses a single cable used for both HDMI and power, which terminates with a power brick-style module housing both connections.

The above points out the main issue with the monitors-- HDMI is the only connectivity option, with no DVI, DisplayPort or even USB on offer. Also lacking is VESA mount compatibility, since the cable is built directly in the stand.

The PDS241 and PDS271 are available from June 2017.
