MSI announces a trio of 200 series motherboards with an exclusive addition-- a pre-installed 16GB Intel Optane Memory drive, adding further value for customers.
The motherboards getting this addition are the Z270 Tomahawk, B250M Bazooka and the B250M Pro, as denoted with an OPT BOOST suffix. The first two motherboards have x2 Turbo M.2 slots, providing space for a fast PCIe SSD card, while the B250M Pro appears to have a single M.2 slot.
According to MSI Optane memory provides "up to 14x faster" hard drive performance, allowing users to "enjoy SSD levels of performance and keep the large storage capacity." All 200 series motherboards from the company actually support Optane if equipped with the latest applicable BIOS.
