Gigabyte announces a first custom designed card based on the AMD Radeon Vega GPU-- the Radeon RX Vega 64 Gaming OC 8G, a black and red offering wrapped around a Windforce 2X cooler design.

Vega 64The Vega 64 features processors clocked at 1276 MHz base and 1560 MHz base, making it slightly faster than the 1247 MHz base and 1546 MHz boost clocks of the reference card. Allowing such speeds are a dual-fan Windforce 2X cooler, a "well rounded thermal solution" consisting of 5 heatpipes in direct contact with the GPU and a copper plate with an extra heatpipe on the back of the card.

For overclockers Gigabyte offers 12+1 power phases for lower temperature and stable voltage outputs, and the card requires a 750W power supply. Construction promises to be "ultra durable" with a backplate ensuring further sturdiness. The card is capable of 6 multiview configurations, and is 13mm taller than reference designs. Connectivity comes through x3 HDMI and x3 DisplayPort connectors.

The company is still to announce when the Vega 64 ships, but it should do so by end 2017.
