WD BlackWestern Digital (WD) announces an update of the Black gaming-oriented SSD range-- the Black SN750 NVMe SSD not only offers up to 2TB of storage, but also features an integrated heatsink for optimal performance.

Available in a single-sided M.2 form factor, the SN750 is largely identical to the original, if with tweaks on both the firmware and hardware side. As such, performance tops out on the 1TB model at 3470MB/s sequential read and 3000MB/s sequential write.

The aforementioned heatsink is an aluminium number designed by cooling specialist EKWB. It is an optional extra, and promises to further improve performance through passive cooling capabilities. Another means to improve on the drives is an an overhauled SSD Dashboard app, with a "Gaming Mode" ensuring the drive does not use low-power idle states.

The Black SN750 is available from February 2019 in 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities.
