Pebble presents what it claims is the thinnest and lightest smartwatch around-- the Pebble Time Round, the first device from the company featuring a circular colour ePaper display.
Essentially a tweaked version of the recent Pebble Time, the Pebble Time Round is 7.5mm thin and weighs all of 28g (in comparison the Apple Watch is 10.5mm thick and 40g heavy). It comes in 20mm and 14mm band sizes, and features an always-on ePaper display one can check in direct light or the dark via LED backlight.
The thin and light dimensions come at a price, mind-- battery life clocks at just a couple of days, even if quick charging capability promises to provide 24 hours of use in just 15 minutes. Regular Pebble smartwatches claim up to 7 days of use on a single charge.
Construction is in metal with splash (rather than water) resistance. Functionality remains identical to previous Pebble smartwatch, with connectivity with both Android and iOS devices.
The Pebble Time Round is available in European markets in either white, black or rose gold from "early" 2016.
