ADATA XPG Intros Spectrix D80 Memory

E-mail Print PDF

ADATA XPG launches the Spectrix D80-- the first DDR4 RGB memory modules from the company featuring hybrid liquid-air cooling through a combination of liquid and aluminium heatsinks.

Adata memoryDubbed "Jellyfish," the cooling concept uses two heatsinks. The liquid heatsink is hermetically sealed with non-conductive fluid. Meanwhile the aluminium heatsink delivers thermal cooling together with thermally conductive materials on the PCB. The liquid inside the heatsink also helps make the memory look more attractive, thanks to built-in RGB lighting.

The company adds the D80 DIMMs are made of hand-picked memory chips (specifically SK Hynix 8gb ICs rated for DDR4-266 to DDR4-3600 at 1.20-1.35V). The modules operate at a frequency range of 2666-5000MHz, with support for X299 and AMD AM4/Ryzen modules, and preconfigured Intel XMP 2.0 profiles allow for quick overclocking.

Spectrix D80 modules are shipping now in either 16GB dual-channel or 32GB quad-channel kits.
