E-mail Print PDF

The education-focused March 2018 iPad event saw Logitech reveal the Crayon, a colourful low-cost stylus sold directly to schools. Now the company announces the stylus will be available to all from October 2018.

Logitech CrayonThe Crayon borrows technology from the Apple Pencil with the smart tip allowing users to adjust line weight according to the angle. It does not offer pressure sensitivity, but does include palm rejection technology and MFI-certified charging through built-in Lightning port. Logitech says a single charge allows for up to 7 hours of use.

Connection with the iPad is instant, and does not require Bluetooth. The hardware promises to be tough enough for use by children, being able to withstand drops of around 1m. The flat shape ensuring it does not roll off desks, and the rubber end cap is attached to the stylus, meaning it should not get lost.

Customers have to keep in mind the Crayon is only compatible with the latest 6th generation iPads, meaning users of older iPad and iPad Pro models are, alas, out of luck.
