Twelve South Hides Charger in Frame

E-mail Print PDF

Customers wanting a wireless charger they can hide in the house? Accessory maker Twelve South might have a solution with the PowerPic, a regular 5x7 picture frame with a wireless charger inside.

PowerPicThe PowerPic charges any Qi-enabled phone, with up to 10W of fast wireless charging. It plugs into any USB outlet, PC or phone adapter, and a small status light on the back lets the user know when the phone is fully charged or if a foreign object is preventing the phone from charging properly. Wireless charging takes place through most phone cases up to 3mm thick.

Construction is in New Zealand pine, and the frame holds any 13 x 18cm photo (with a choice of 2 included in the box). Twelve South suggests users set the phone wallpaper to match the picture inside the frame, but doing so might not be ideal if one has a phone with an OLED display due to burn in.

The PowerPic is available now in either white or black.
