Samsung announces the date for the next Unpacked event in spectacular fashion as it installs huge billboards across Paris bearing characters in Hangul, the Korean alphabet. Translated, the billboards read "The Future Unfolds" and "February Twentieth."
The event takes place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, and is set to "user in new Galaxy experiences based on 10 years of innovation." The S. Korean company will very probably use the event to launch the next Galaxy S device, the S10, one rumoured to be shipping in three variants.
According to certification documents from the Chinese CMIIT government body, Samsung is preparing three Galaxy S10 devices. Two have a 5.8-inch display with a choice of either single or dual rear-facing camera setup. The final device is 6.44-inch, and has a triple camera array on the back. Precious else is known, other than possible names (S10, S10 Plus and S10 E) and the suggestion the phones will use the Infinity-O Display. Essentially a display with a hole cut out to accommodate the front-facing camera, it allows for a very thin (if non-existing) bezel.
Of course, Samsung will use the event to show off other devices. The most obvious one is surely the foldable phone seen at the 2018 Developer Conference. Thanks to "Infinity Flex" OLED technology, users can fold the phone from 7.3- to 4-inch, with a One UI system ensuring all content transitions seamlessly between the two screen sizes.
