Gigabyte Claims 1st Water-Cooled External Graphics

Gaming hardware maker Gigabyte announces what it claims is the 1st water-cooled external graphics card enclosure-- the Aorus RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Box featuring a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GPU and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity.

Aorus gaming boxAccording to the company, the water cooling system makes for a graphics box able to provide the "best" GeForce RTX 2080 Ti computing performance and a quiet environment. The all-in-one cooling takes care of the GPU, VRAM and MOSFET, and consists of a large copper plate, 240mm aluminium radiator and two 120mm fans together with an optimised pump and water block. In total it measures 300 x 140 x 173mm, and weighs 3.8kg.

In addition, a network chip allows users to connect to a wired network. Being a piece of gaming hardware the Gaming Box features RGB lighting, adjustable via Aorus Engine and RGB Fusion 2.0 software. As for the included graphics card, the GeForce RTX Ti includes 11GB of GDDR6 memory with 616GB/s bandwidth, 4352 CUDA cores and hundreds of Tensor cores.

Gigabyte is still to announce when the Gaming Box hits the market.
