Joan Comes to the Home Office

E-mail Print PDF

The coronavirus pandemic has lead to a massive increase of home workers-- and many need a means to let family members when they can (and cannot) interrupt. Enter Joan Home, a product promising to be a hassle-free means to do exactly that.

Joan Home

The Joan Home is, essentially, a consumer version of the Visionect meeting room display solution. It is a small and lightweight ePaper display able to display current availability and the calendar/schedule for the day. It connects to existing calendars wirelessly, with support for all major ones, and updates user status in real-time without need to install yet another app. In fact, setup takes place via online Joan portal complete with language and custom content settings.

Being eInk based, the Joan Home is very energy efficient, and needs charging only "every few weeks." Mounting also promises to be simple, since the lightweight device attaches to surfaces via magnetic pad, with no drilling or wiring required. Once the workday is over, the user can also turn the Joan Home into an information board or picture frame.

“Staying close with our customers has enabled us to understand how people work and what they need to be their best selves," the company says. "That’s why Visionect, at the recent turn of events, sprung to action and developed a solution for easing workflow and reducing meeting interruptions at home."

The Joan Home is available now.
