Samsung announces an update on its 470 SSD series, the 830 SSD series-- now carrying a high performance SATA 3.0 interface.
The SATA 3.0 interface handles data speeds of up to 6GB/sec.
The 830 series comes in 64, 128, 256 and 512GB capacities, with an attractive brushed metal finish unusual for a device that won't be seen once it finds its way inside your customers' machines.
Samsung says the SSDs are ideal for upgrades-- the package includes Norton Ghost software (which supposedly reduces upgrade times by up to 75%) and a bracket for installing the 2.5" drive in a 3.5" bay, while notebook upgrade kits include a USB to SATA adapter cable.
