If one is to believe TechCrunch, the much rumoured Amazon tablet "is very real," bears the name "Amazon Kindle" and is a 7" Android-based device.

We've been hearing Amazon tablet rumours for a while now-- most recently saying the company put orders for touch panel displays for 2 different devices codenamed "Coyote" and "Hollywood."

HP will produce one last TouchPad run to "meet unfulfilled demand" sometime in the near future-- despite recently announcing the end to webOS hardware manufacture.

How come? Very simple, actually. We all know there's one thing customers really like-- and that's a good bargain. And following the announcement, HP slashed remaining TouchPad inventory prices to $100 (16G model) and $150 (32GB)...

Toshiba's Third Dimension at IFA

Toshiba will present its Qosmio F750 series at IFA 2011-- describing it as the first notebook range with glasses-free 3D and simultaneous 2D/3D content display.

The F750 series uses the integrated webcam to track the user's eye position-- ensuring the 3D effect from the 15.6" display matches their viewing angle.

Audio is not overlooked, with Harman Kardon stereo speakers and Dolby Advanced Audio.

Powering it all is an Intel i7 2630QM processor, together with a nVidia GT540M gaphics card.

Medialine launches the Duke of Holland, the latest in the mPad Android tablet line-- now with Android 3.2 (aka Honeycomb).

It carries a 10.1" capacitative LED backlit TFT LCD touchscreen with 1280x800 resolution.

Powering it is a dual-core 1 Ghz Tegra T20 processor, 1GB system memory and 16GB eMMC internal storage, while connections come through wifi, Bluetooth and optional built-in 3G.

Razer announces the Razer Blade, calling it "the world's first true gaming laptop" to make gamers and developers "return to the PC as the primary gaming platform of choice."

It comes in a portable package-- 22.5mm thick and weighing 3.2kg-- with a 17" display, 2.8GHz i7 processor, 8GB RAM, 320GB SATA HDD and a GeForce GT555M video card.

Best Buy sold less than 10% of its initial order of HP TouchPads after its July launch and wanted HP to take the remainder of the 270,000 TouchPads back.

Intel Bets on Ultrabooks

Intel pushes the "Ultrabook" concept further, releasing its reference designs and creating an Ultrabook fund worth $300 million.

Ultrabooks will come in 2 types-- an 18mm thick model with a 11 - 13" screen, and a 21mm thick model with a 14 - 17" screen.

Intel promises Ultrabook price points will be more mainstream than those of Apple's Macbook Air models, making them more attractive to customers.

Fusion Garage-- maker of the stillborn JooJoo tablet-- announces its return to the mobile device business with a tablet and a smartphone, the Grid 10 and Grid 4.
