Corsair Vengeance Memory Kits for W-3175X

Corsair announces a range of DDR4 memory kits aimed for use in high-end desktops based on the Xeon W-1375X processor-- the Vengeance LPX series, with one 96GB (12 x 8GB) kit and four 192GB (12 x 16GB).

The 96GB kit (CMK96GX4M12P4000C19) offers DDR4-4000MHz speeds, with 19-23-23-45 timings at 1.35V, and consists of twelve 8GB sticks. Meanwhile the four 192GB kits are based on speeds, specifically DDR4-2666, DDR4-3200, DDR4-3600, and DDR4-4000. Each kit consists of twelve 16GB sticks operating in hexa-channel mode on the Xeon W-3175X and other LGA3647 CPUs allowing for UDIMM operation. The DDR4-2666 option operates at 1.2V, while the others require 1.35V.

G.Skill Intros Trident Z Royal DDR4 RGB Kits

Taiwanese memory maker G.Skill announces the Trident Z Royal DDR4 RGB memory kits, designed for use with the latest unlocked 28-core Intel Xeon W-3175X processor operating in hexa-channel with 6- or 12-module kit configurations.

The 6-channel memory kits promise XMP 2.0 supported speeds of up to DDR4-4000 CL17-18-18-38 at 1.35V, thanks to Samsung B-die memory ICs. They range in rated frequency from 3200 to 4000MHz, and in size from 4GB (8GB x6) to 192GB (16GB x12). According to the company, the DDR4-4000 CL17 96GB (8GBx12) kit offers real bandwidth of 122GB/s, a "substantial incease" compared to currently available quad-channel platforms.

TrendForce: "Sharper" Decline for DRAM Prices in Q1 2019

According to TrendForce division DRAMeXchange DRAM prices are set to decline by nearly -20% Q-o-Q in Q1 2019, as high inventory, weak demand and a pessimistic economic outlook for the medium to long term affect the entire memory industry.

Overall DRAM prices did remain stable in December across both Europe and N. America, with no noticeable change from November. As such, the average price of 8GB DRAM modules remained at $60, while 4GB modules cost around $30. However DRAMeXchange predicts January will see a drop of at least -10% M-o-M, before prices fall even further in February and March.

Corsair releases the Vengeance RGB Pro Light Enhancement Kits-- DRAM modules containing no actual DRAM, since the product is designed to provide more RGB lighting from vacant DIMM slots.

Available with a choice of black or white aluminium heatspreaders, the light enhancement kits are designed, as Corsair puts it, "complete your system's look" with a design and lighting identical to Vengeance RAM modules from the company. As such, each module carries 10 ultra-bright RGB LEDs, with each LED being individually addressable.
