Asus announces an April 2012 launch for the PadFone at Mobile World Congress 2012-- the 4.3" smartphone with a 10.1" docking tablet, which in turn slots into an optional keyboard dock.

Think of it as a smartphone-tablet-notebook combo... or an excuse to sell lots of different docks.

Inside the PadFone are a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor together with an Adreno 225 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The display is a Super AMOLED handling 960x540 resolution, while the OS is Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Continue reading...

Fujitsu to Hit Europe with Phones, Tablets

The Financial Times reports Fujitsu plans to take on the European market with a "wide range" of smartphones and tablets using both Android and Windows platforms.

The Fujitsu mobile device launch will most probably take place at Mobile World Congress 2012, the FT continues.

Samsung Unveils 7-inch Galaxy Tab Sequel

Samsung announces a follow-up to the Galaxy Tab 7.0-- the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), the first Samsung tablet shipping with Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich).

Available in either 3G (HSPA+) or wifi versions, the device carries a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and a 1024x600 LCD display, together with Bluetooth connections, x2 cameras (3MP rear-facing and a VGA front-facing webcam) and a variety of embedded Google applications.

A 4000mAh battery powers the device, while A-GPS is also included.

Asus Making Kinect-Equipped Laptops?

Is Microsoft planning to integrate motion controls into Windows 8? The Daily claims the company is working with Asus to do exactly that, saying it "checked out" a pair of Asus prototypes.

The prototype laptops The Daily reportedly saw run on Windows 8 and carry a Kinect sensor across the top of the screen, with a set of LEDs at the bottom of the display.
